    Description

    For your consideration is an original Westmoreland gold applied three owl trio plate. The plate back stated: "Pat'd July 2, 1901" which is the date United States Patent number #677,609 was accepted. A process for manufacturing portions of a glass plate at different times came from Westmoreland, PA.
    As photographs are a portion of this listing, portions of the cold applied heavy gold color have disappeared through the years. One ear photograph details paint removed, not a crack. The plate has minimal factory straw marks. Just enough gold color remains from the 119 year old plate to allow it to be very decorative.
