Here is a Meike alternative to the Sony VG-C90AM Battery Grip
The Sony DSLR A900 and A850 are superb cameras, but like all digital cameras they use up batteries FAST -- just when you need them the most.
Here a way to avoid that problem -- and solve some other ones at the same time -- a battery grip.
It attaches to the bottom of the camera -- using the tripod socket -- and provides you with TWO important improvements.
The
Meike Vertical Grip
is designed for the
Sony a DSLR-A900 and A850
digital cameras. The grip allows you to use
TWO
InfoLITHIUM batteries, providing enough power for up to 2,000 shots.
PLUS, camera handling is improved with a lower point of gravity with the Battery Grip in place, especially when long focal length lenses are used.
The Grip also features a vertical shutter release and controls that make shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally.
It has a shutter release on the end/top and a control dial -- just like the camera's shutter release.
In addition, it has the other commonly-used controls that the camera body has:
AF/MF button -- easily switch between auto-focus and manual focua
AEL/SLOW SYNC button -- press to lock in the exposure
EXPOSURE COMPENSATION button -- +/- 3f-stops by rotating the dial on the front or the back
ON/OFF switch -- to save battery life
AND an extra control dial on the back for your thumb, too!
In short, you can use the camera in vertical mode with the most important adjustments in a more comfortable position -- AND get TWICE as many exposures!!!!
This vertical grip will ONLY fit on the A900 and A850 cameras!!!
The SECOND to the last picture shows this Meike battery grip on an A850 (on the left).  On the right is a Sony VG-C90AM battery grip on an A850.  See a difference?  I can't!!!
It has an ON/OFF switch, and a tripod socket on the bottom.
It is used, but in perfect condition -- see photos.  All electrical contacts are in perfect shape.  Unlike the Sony grip, this model has the thumb screw on the back AND the front, for easier removal or attachment.
It comes with the battery cradle for two batteries -- but it works fine with just one battery installed.
Also included is an extra battery -- used, but in great shape -- see last picture.
